VCT's Jorge Ojeda Earns Four American Graphic Design Awards, ICMA Recognition ![]() DOWNERS GROVE, IL., - Jorge Ojeda, born in Venezuela and Art Director for Versatile Card Technology, Inc., was recently bestowed four American Graphic Design Awards in the plastic card category. Ojeda was honored for his designs of a VIP card for Venezuela, a color magnetic stripe card for DIC Japan, Versatile Card Technology's business card and FXI's business card. "It's a great honor to be recognized for design work. Versatile Card Technology places a premium on card design, not just the graphic elements but also the security, inks and material elements," said Ojeda. "Banks, retailers and businesses want their cards to be the first out of the purse and wallet. They want to be unique, chic and appealing to the eye. Versatile Card Technology is able to work with its customers to come up with the right design elements," Ojeda added. Jorge Ojeda has spent 13 years in the plastic card industry, the last three at Versatile Card Technology where he was promoted from Graphic Design Manager to Art Director. Prior to joining Versatile Card Technology, Ojeda worked plastic printing in Brazil, Venezuela and several other Latin American countries. Besides card designs, Ojeda is responsible for Versatile Card Technology's Corporate Identity and their website, which is undergoing a redesign. "Jorge is very creative in his designs and he works very closely with customers in order to get the right design for each card product. He is more than an artist. Jorge understands the competitiveness of the plastic card industry and he strives to be the best at what he does in order to help our customers grow their businesses," said Nicholas Cooney, president of Downers Grove, Ill.-based Versatile Card Technology. In addition to earning the four American Graphic Design Awards, Ojeda's badge design was selected by the International Card Manufacturer Association at its international conference in Prague, Czech Republic, in October. The association will continue to use the award-winning design in its publications until next year's conference. Ojeda has also been chosen to use his knowledge in security graphics on several National ID Cards around the world.
