Maciej (Matt) A. Pcion is the newest member of Versatile Card Technology/QualTeq Division Senior Management Team.
Pcion will be responsible for the entire card manufacturing operation and will continue his active involvement in new card technology and manufacturing methods. Pcion has more than 16 years in the card industry, with a very strong printing background.
His extensive experience in printing began as a student at the Heidelberg Institute, Warsaw, Poland. In the early stages of the plastic card industry, his studies focused on printing techniques, prepress, printing chemistry and materials, as well as the mechanical elements associated with printing.
In 1988, Pcion began his United States printing career. His expertise in the printing industry brought him to Versatile Card Technology (VCT), Downers Grove, Ill., in 1989. With his proven experience in printing, commitment to quality and managerial experience, Pcion was promoted to Pressroom Manager in 1999. He continued to work at VCT until 2000 when he opted for a new challenge in the plastic card industry. He returned to VCT in 2001 as Plant Manager at VCT's new Visa/MasterCard manufacturing plant in Chennai, India. This start-up operation was a key factor in the global growth of VCT. With the commitment, creativity and technical knowledge, Pcion was appointed as Plant Manager at VCT/QualTeq Division in 2004.
"VCT recognizes the changes within the industry, digital printing, RFID and new security requirements with Visa and MasterCard.
